MDC Defense officials made many meetings and agreements regarding their target markets at the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF’23), which they attended for the first time this year.
MDC Defense Industry Trade Inc. Board Chairman İlter Madencan, in his assessment to AA correspondent, said that he was happy that such organizations were held in Turkey.
Madencan, who stated that they were proud to be a part of the organization, noted that they were involved in the developments in the defense industry in Turkey and that they closely followed the developments due to the fair.
Madencan, who stated that they have been operating in the sector with the Madencan Steel Profile company for 13 years and exported to 30 countries, gave the information that they established MDC Defense Industry Inc. approximately 2 years ago.
Madencan, who stated that they developed their own products domestically as MDC Defense, said, ‘We currently have 2 shotguns, a pistol, a machine gun and a 5.56 infantry rifle. The R&D of our 7.62 mm infantry rifle is also ongoing.’
Madencan noted that they have also established a company in the US for the sale of the weapons they produce and that the activity and permit processes of this company have been completed. Madencan said that MDC Defense’s products will start to be sold on the shelves in the US as of this month.
Madencan, who reported that they have been in the Romanian market for the last 2 months, said, ‘We have joint ventures in Romania. There is intense interest in our products there and we continue there.’
– We want to enter the Indonesian market
Madencan stated that they hope to enter the Indonesian market with the meetings they will hold at IDEF and said, ‘We had ongoing relations there. Today, we will host both the honorary consul and some guests from the military wing and complete another phase of our meetings.’ he said.
Madencan, who stated that they currently have order agreements with 10 countries including Georgia, Pakistan, Romania and the USA and that they have sent samples to these countries, said that their deliveries will begin after the permit processes.
Madencan reported that they have a delivery target of 5 thousand units of 9 mm pistols, 9 mm machine pistols and 5.56 infantry rifles by the end of the year.
Madencan, who also stated that they will make the first delivery agreement within the NATO-approved system with the meeting they will hold within the scope of IDEF, said, ‘We want to work actively not only in Europe and America but also in the Far East, especially in countries that are seen as friendly to Turkey.’
Madencan added that they want to be more active in Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.
